    WordCamp Toronto 2009 recap

Well WordCamp is done for this year, and it was amazing. I am very happy dtb had the opportunity to take part in this event. We helped organize and presented FlashPress.

It was great to see so many people out this year. WCT more than doubled last years numbers with a total of 233 attendees, not bad! Hopefully next year will bring even more.

For a full recap of the event and a retrospective from the organizers point of view check out this great article at http://phug.ca/news/wordcamp-toronto-2009-wrap-up/.

    Some of my favorite moments:

    1. FREE BBQ lunch on Sunday from Lou Dawgs
    2. Microsoft’s 512mb USB keys! Yeah, that’s right, I said 512mb.
    3. The accordion guy AKA Joey Devilla
    4. Opening night party at Lou Dawgs, the next day was really rough!
    5. All the great FREE swag from WordPress, Microsoft, Picapp, and other sponsors.

Favorite Speakers, tough to say, I was so busy running around helping organize the event I really didn’t get  chance to see a full session, but if I had to choose Nick La , Joey Devilla, and Peter Flashner. You can view there presentations here http://phug.ca/wordcamptoronto/speaker-slides/.

You should also check the WCT recap site, there is a lot of great post event stuff like speaker slideshows, videos, photos, sound bites, and more…

Well, what’s next? WCT2010 is already in the works and they are looking for help, if you want to contribute go to http://www.phug.ca/wordcamptoronto.com ,  or you can also find them on Facebook and  Twitter.

As for me, I am very excited about WordCamp Montreal, which is only 2 months away!
